Jadeveon Clowney to South Carolina.
From the people that brought you Marcus Lattimore, we now have the official news that Jadeveon Clowney has signed his letter of intent to go to South Carolina. I know, I know, I told you that I have an anti-recruiting bias. And I still do. But there are reasons why this news is huge for the SEC.
The fact of the matter is that if Clowney can show even half of the athleticism and pass rush ability of his highlight reel? He is going to start from day one. Spurrier is not above playing a freshman if he’s the best player. I mean, talk to Kenny Miles and Jarvis Giles about Spurrier’s compunctions.
And second of all? Look at South Carolina’s two-deep from last year? You can see a definite opening for Clowney. Cliff Matthews and Melvin Ingram are gone and even a returning player like Chaz Sutton seems beatable. He hasn’t seen the field much yet, and I’m trying not to avoid falling into a trap here, but when you have fewer players of note to beat?
You can see the field faster.
I know. Brilliant analysis right? What more could you ask for?
Highlights? Okay!
