Auburn Season Preview Prediction Picks

Outside of one of the many scandals that plagued college football last year, everything went right for the Tigers. But a lot has left the Plains, and some in the media are thinking it’s going to be a first to worst kind of season. But what do I think?

Well dot dot dot

1) Barrett Trotter will win the starting job. Obviously, he won’t account for 50 touchdowns like young Cam Newton. But he will be on pace for 35. At least, before he gets dinged up in October.

2) The hustle of Auburn’s compliance director to get Mike Blakely eligible will pay off when he gets a long touchdown run to seal a victory against the Florida Gators. It will be the most O. Henry game ever.

3) The Kiehl Frazier era will start in earnest with the Ole Miss game. It will be a debut that will be not as well regarded as Chris Jericho joining the WWE, but it will be the start of something very interesting.

4) The planking trend in the SEC will reach its most ridiculous when Corey Lemonier gets flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for planking atop a sacked Jordan Jefferson.

5) Neiko Thorpe will lead the team in tackles this season. He will have 95. It will not be a good sign for the teams success.

6) There’s a real opportunity for disaster here. The Tigers won 7 games by 8 points or less and five by a field goal or less. And when you consider all that was lost, and the ridiculousness of the schedule in October? 2-6 is not an impossiblity when they get Ole Miss coming to Auburn.

But that being said? The Tigers are going to go into the Iron Bowl with a chance to win their right to a minor bowl game. Do they get there?

Nah.
