Will there be trouble in Knoxville?

SEC Prediction Pick Briefs, Week 2, featuring Tennessee vs. Cincinnati

So last week? I had two brilliant calls. One call I made before Connor Shaw gifted ECU a big lead. One call was just an assumption that Morgan Newton would not die on the vine. So yeah. Feast and or famine. 5-4.

This week? We bid adieu to LSU and Ole Miss. I know that Southern Illinois has recent history on their side and all, but come on. Lightning doesn’t strike twice.

UConn +2 at Vanderbilt
The thing that worries me about this? Vanderbilt’s offense really was not that efficient. I’m sure they could improve, and I’m sure that UConn’s not going to be nearly as good as offense as they were against Fordham. But for real? Allowing nearly 5 yards per play against Elon? Not a good start for the defense. It’s a coinflip, and I’m hedging. Vanderbilt 17, UConn 16.

Central Michigan at -10.5 Kentucky
While Kentucky just wanted to watch football burn last Thursday, Central Michigan only managed a little over 4 yards per play against South Carolina State. I know that this is gonna be ugly as well. But this is a fool me twice game. Kentucky 17, Central Michigan 6.

Arkansas -36 vs. New Mexico
So when you have someone who did what they were supposed to do taking on a team that not only lost a winnable home game, but loooked bad in the process, and has to travel to Arkansas? You can see why it’s a 36 point spread. And Tyler Wilson will win with ease. 400 yards passing will happen. Arkansas 59, New Mexico 10.

Florida vs. +23 UAB
Bryan Ellis is a good quarterback with a veteran line, and he was able to go toe to toe in Neyland last year, and he managed a cover against Mississippi State last year. Florida Atlantic got 3 doing nothing. UAB will get to 17 points and get the backdoor cover. Florida 37, UAB 17. With no Sharrif Floyd involved, maybe even 37-24.

Cincinnati +5 vs. Tennessee
I had a feeling on this one early. Between Zach Collaros, Isaiah Pead, and D.J. Woods, you have a veteran and experienced set of offensive triplets. They have a veteran defense, who while not off to a confidence inducing start, they were probably looking ahead to this game. If the Bearcats take care of the ball? They win with some ease. Cincinnati 31, Tennessee 20.

You are an idiot. No way Cincy beat UT. In fact, Vols in a double-digit win. So stick that up yourazz and see if you get a warm and fuzzy feeling

    Dear Large Orange,

Did I even mention that it was to be a trap game for Rocky Top? Because there is one team going to the Swamp next week, and it\’s not the visitors from northern Kentucky.

And since I am clearly the idiot you say, what\’s a yourazz?

If Tenn can establish the run and get some points up early, it should be a nice win, cincy has to stop that pass game with three if the slowest linebackers in recent history.. 24-17 UT

May have underestimated the speed of Cincy\’s linebackers some. This game looks to be in the 42-31 sort of range way we\’re going.

    @realandrewrosin,
How can I get your job?
Like any other idiot, I can look at a schedule and pull things out of my azz as an upset special.
You think 5-4 last week was a good record? SHEESH
    GO VOLS!

    Dear GoGoVols,

As I said previously, I overestimated the speed of Cincy\’s linebackers. At this point? You are just making me want to subtract ten points from every Tennessee\’s projection.

Rocky Top\’s vernacular is hilariously coarse.

    Dear Carlos,

Internet Yelling is considered rather uncouth. Though I will apologize and admit I was wrong if you admit you\’re too poor to afford a new keyboard to replace your broken shift key.
