This week, will Aaron Murray get time to throw?
South Carolina vs. Georgia, Prediction Pick 2011
Do I have to say it? I mean, really. We know Mark Richt’s back is against the wall. We know that Georgia’s season could come down to this. And we know that South Carolina? It’s not the match-up you want.
The context is obvious here. The question is, who’s got the driver’s seat for the SEC East?
Well, in the trenches, it does not look good for Georgia offensively. You take away the deception of one Brandon Boykin? And Georgia ran for 57 yards on 30 carries. Granted, a part of that is the fact that Aaron Murray was on the run when he dropped back to pass, but still. With South Carolina, at least on the edges, it’s a rather large advantage. Isaiah Crowell is going to have tgo bring a lunch because he’s got a long day ahead of him.
But that being said? South Carolina’s offense wasn’t as much crushing people as helped by a turnover generating defense. Connor Shaw isn’t going to see time for a while after he went 3-9 for 21 yards and a lost fumble. But, and this is a little difficult to say when a team put up 56, you kind of want an offense to generate more than 351 yards. And despite the loss of Alec Ogeltree for the game, Georgia will probably find a way to slow down Marcus Lattimore.
He’s not going to have a line of 37-182-2 by any stretch.
But that being said? I still like South Carolina. A full game of Stephen Garcia, game manager is worth about 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. Marcus Lattimore, even slowed down will be worth 120 total yards and 2 scores. Aaron Murray will be sacked 4 times, 2 for Jadeveon Clowney. Georgia scores a TD late to make it close, but the Gamecocks get this.
South Carolina 23, Georgia 17.
