SEC Prediction Pick Briefs, Week 5, featuring Auburn at South Carolina
It was a good week for me last week. 5-2, if it wasn’t for stupid Auburn and stupid me not remembering stupid Vanderbilt has offensive line issues. I’d be 7-0. But hey, this 17-13-1 record is nice. I like it. I like it very much.
This week? Georgia gets on the road to Florida New Years Day bowl, Alabama outpunches Florida, and Arkansas outpunches Texas A&M. And Vanderbilt? Chilling out maxing, as well as relaxing by the pool. Bye week.
LSU -30 vs. Kentucky
So what happens when the resistable force meets the immovable object? We’ll see on Saturday. Kentucky was the 113th best offense with three games against Western Kentucky, Louisville, and Central Michigan. LSU is one of the best from play to play on defense. LSU cruises comfortably. LSU 35, Kentucky 3.
Tennessee -28.5 vs. Buffalo
Buffalo does have a decent pass defense, but the best quarterback they’ve faced is Tino Sunseri. Tyler Bray will have a strong game, Tauren Poole won’t. Buffalo’s offense is below average for the MAC. A crapsack SEC defense is going stop them. Tennessee starts the road to redemption. Tennessee 41, Buffalo 10.
Fresno State -3.5 vs. Ole Miss
Derek Carr is going to have a 300 yard game with three touchdowns. It’s more of a question of if Fresno State can hang on than if they’ll win. The offense is simply better. And they’re at home. But if Ole Miss is ever going to get the pass attack rolling? This has to be the week. Fresno State 35, Ole Miss 27.
Auburn +10 at South Carolina
Things I know? Marcus Lattimore is going to rush for 200 yards. Michael Dyer and Onterio McCalebb will rival these numbers. Auburn will score enough points to stay in the game. Stephen Garcia will help. But South Carolina will win. South Carolina 38, Auburn 31
